Something changes when a class walks out the door. The child who never raises a hand is suddenly the one explaining how roots drink. The wiggly one finally has somewhere to put all that energy. Nobody is behind or ahead in a garden. There is only the work in front of you, and it needs everybody.

Learning they can hold
A worksheet about photosynthesis gets forgotten by Friday. A bean the class planted, watered, argued over, and finally ate does not. Kids carry these lessons home and teach them to their parents at dinner. That is when you know it stuck.

A job for every child
One group waters, one weeds, one keeps the journal. The bed does not get planted unless everyone shows up. Kids who struggle to sit still in a circle turn into leaders out here, and the rest of the class notices.

Seeds do not care about the bell. Waiting three weeks for a sprout teaches something no lesson plan can, and when the harvest finally comes, the pride is real because the wait was real.

Budgets are real, and we would rather be in your classroom on the terms you can afford than not be there at all. Both options teach the same thirty lessons. Here is the honest difference so you can choose well.

PRINTED CLASSROOM SET
Hardcover textbooks, printed workbooks
A classroom set of hardcover textbooks is bought once and reused year after year. The illustrations are the whole experience, and children treat a real book differently than a stack of copies. Printed workbooks are consumable, so each child gets their own to fill in, take home, and keep.

DIGITAL LICENSE
Print it on your own copier
If your budget is tight or you need to start next week, a school license lets you print workbook pages on the copier you already have. Same lessons, same sequence, lower up-front cost. You are trading paper, toner, and staff time for the savings.

easy on the teacher
Any adult can lead it
The textbook is written to be read aloud, so whoever teaches that week just opens the book, no gardening background, no separate tracks for different ages. Everyone hears the same read-aloud, then splits into the K–2 or 3–5 workbook at their own level.
Weekly co-op · 30 weeks
One lesson per meeting. Read aloud together, do the workbook page, head outside for the activity. Fits a standard 45–60 minute block.
Semester elective · 15 weeks
Two lessons per meeting, paired by topic: soil and nutrients together, seeds and germination together. Ends right at harvest.
Summer camp · 6–8 weeks
Pick the growing-season lessons and run them fast. Kids plant in week one and eat what they grew before the term is out.

Questions from group leaders
Do we need one textbook per child?
No. One textbook serves the whole group. It's the read-aloud the leader teaches from. Workbooks are consumable, so order one per child at their level (K–2 or 3–5).
Who teaches it if none of us garden?
Anyone can. The textbook is written to be read aloud word for word, and the 30 video lessons can lead the group on their own if you'd rather watch together. Rotating parents works fine; there's nothing to prepare between weeks.
What if we don't have a garden at our meeting place?
Most groups start with a few containers or one raised bed. The activities are written to scale down; several can be done with buckets, seed trays, or a patch of ground. Families can also do the planting portion at home and bring results back.
Can we use ESA or scholarship funds for a group order?
Often yes. Families can each purchase with their own ESA funds, or the co-op can order together and invoice families. See the ESA & Funding page for the details, and email us if you need a W-9, EIN, or itemized invoice.
Do you offer purchase orders and invoicing?
Yes. Schools and larger co-ops can order by PO. Email us your group size and we'll send a quote and an invoice your treasurer or business office can process.
Are the live coaching calls included for group leaders?
Yes, with the bundle. Two live group calls a month with Luke, Liss & Nina. Bring the questions your class runs into, whether that's a pest problem or how to explain crop rotation to a five-year-old.
